More D&D stuff, but since it’s got a lot of stuff I’m putting down for writing, I put it in its own post. I’m using this art for something in-game, and it has a little story to go with it.
"It is by Wulfenmother’s choosing that one will be born with her mark, her paw upon their back so that they are always under her gentle touch. Her power flows through, so that her chosen will venture to the world. To see new things, to find new places, to hunt new beasts, to always have the thirst for adventure.
Only one will walk the world at once. Only one will bear her mark. And when their time has come, another will be born, to learn what the previous had experienced, and to eventually go out for themselves.
It so happened that Wulfenmother’s first, was her only for several thousand years. Through the ever growing evil of man, her first chosen was bound to the mortal plane for two thousand years, and Wulfenmother’s next chosen would perish before the first could pass on his power. Only through death would the power pass on, but his death could only be met by the next marked. Forbidden by magic contract to seek them out, Wulfenmother’s first was to always be the first.
Though fate had it different, and when the world needed help most, Wulfenmother’s first had finally met a living bearer of the mark. The two shared company, shared bonds and a friendship, over the course of a very short week. But the first’s time had long since come to its end, and Mother Death called for his return.
And so it came that Wulfenmother’s second slew Wulfenmother’s first, ending his time and beginning the second line. And through that fight, Wulfenmother’s second inherited a great power, the great wolf spirit giving her the soul and body of a wolf. But the second already had another task at hand, but now she strode forth with the great Mother Wolf at her back.
